Meringues

  • 3 Egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 Cup superfine sugar
  1. Add the cream of tartar, salt, and vanilla to your bowl of foamy egg whites. Beat the egg whites with a stand mixer, or eggbeaters until you can make peaks that stand upright.
  2. Slowly add the sugar by sprinkling a tablespoon at a time. Continue beating while adding the sugar. Using a piping bag, pipe your meringues onto your cookie sheet, and place in the oven at 250 degrees for 1 hour or until the texture is crispy.
  3. After taking them out of the oven let set for a few minutes to cool and enjoy!
