Seven Long Years.

The Seven Years’ War started in 1756. It was the first war that was worldwide. A fight happened between the English and French colonists in North America and Canadian colonists, then two years later the war started to spread to France and Great Britain. The Seven Years’ War is also called the French and Indian War because the British fought the French and Native Americans, also known as the Indians. As the Seven Years’ War took place in North America, it also took place in The Caribbean, South America, India, The Philippines, and West Africa. There were some countries that fought against each other were, England, Hanover, Prussia, and Portugal who fought France, Russia, Austria, Spain, Saxony, and Sweden. After France opened the war on the continent, Prussia decided to go on the offensive and quickly overran the small country of Saxony.

Events termed the miracles of the house of Brandenberg’ occurred when Prussia was on the Brink of defeat. The first time, both Russia and Austria were unable to extend enough into Prussia. The second time, the Russian empress died and was succeeded by her son who was a supporter of Prussia. The Treaty of Paris in 1763 ended the Seven Years’ War. Lands gained or lost in the European theater of the war were returned to their pre -war owners through an arrangement called status quo ante bellum. And that’s how the Seven Years’ War started and ended.
