In The Book of Genesis, God gave Abraham a test to see how faithful he was. God wanted to test Abraham in such a way that he would have to be completely faithful in trusting God. Being faithful and trusting in God is hard. God took the thing Abraham loved the most and told him to kill his son as an offering. The Lord should always come first in your life, so if God puts you through a hard test, follow it because, in the end, it will all be worth it. The Bible says that God wants to teach us, and He wants us to love Him and follow Him. When God tests us, He doesn’t do it to harm us in any way, and He doesn’t do it to deceive or tempt us like the devil does. The reason he tests us is, so we stay away from evil. God wants us to grow closer to Him and not to forget that He loves every single person.
The more we thrive through difficult times, the more our faith deepens, and the more spiritually mature we become. Some possible reasons that God tests us are, because He needs us to see something we aren’t seeing, and I don’t mean physically seeing something, I mean something we need to avoid that we might be involved in, or we just need to see the good in something. God just wants to help us, and you need to allow Him to do that. God won’t ever try to harm you in any way. Anything He does is always for good. Trust God in everything that happens. You have to feel pain in some way; it’s just a part of life. You can’t just expect your life to be perfect and when it’s not you get mad at God.
Just a reminder, God does not control everything that happens, and not because He can’t, but He allows free-will. He lets things just happen sometimes. God controls what He feels He needs or wants to control. Things could be worse right now but remember God is in control and if you truly believe Him, and have faith in Him, and ask Him for help, He will help as he sees fit. We see that God doesn’t test us to make us sad. He always has a reason. He won’t do it ‘just because’, and we see that with how He tested Abraham. God could have just made Abraham kill his son and God could’ve said I just wanted to see if you would do what I told you to do. God was showing us and Abraham that He loves us and wants the best for us, but He just wants us to show Him that we still love and care about him.
So, we can confidently say the Lord is my helper, what can man do to me? Hebrews 13:6
