In the Book of Genesis, why did God let there be a tree of knowledge of good and evil and why did He allow Satan in the garden?
God wanted to test Adam and Eve to see if they would obey Him or choose evil, and they chose evil. That was their fault because God had one rule and they didn’t follow it. Satan tempted Adam and Eve to eat from the tree. The Bible doesn’t give a clear reason why Satan tempted Eve over Adam, but it could be because she was an easy target, or maybe he didn’t have a reason. We don’t exactly know. We are living in an evil world because of what Adam and Eve did but we continue to be an evil world because of us. We keep choosing the knowledge of good and evil and we do not always use that knowledge for good.If God made us all to where we did no evil and we all loved Him, none of us would ever have a real relationship with Him. It would be in a way a programmed relationship. God wants us to have either a real relationship or, as some people choose, to not have one with Him at all. God wants our love for Him to be real.
Why do people choose to not believe in God?
I did some research about why there are so many people who reject God, and the top third reason is Christians don’t act like Christians. A lot of people don’t want to believe in God because they think if they become Christians they can’t have fun anymore. Non-Christians have sinful pleasures and they don’t want to quit. They think they will feel guilty all the time because they do things that aren’t right. The reason there aren’t more Christians is because of the Christians. Non-Christian look to us and see if the God we follow is the God they want to follow. I’m not saying all Christians are to blame but these days we aren’t a very good example. When other Christians do something sinful, we don’t take it as seriously as when we do something sinful. We get on to them and talk behind their backs about how they did something un-godly, but when you sin you say, “well it was just once” or “it was just a small sin”. That is the problem. We need to criticize ourselves before we criticize anyone else. A quote that I thought of is, once you become perfect then you can teach me to become perfect, because everybody messes up and God knows we sin and that’s why he forgives us. We can’t be perfect so we shouldn’t tell others they need to be perfect.
In the top two reasons people reject God is, they wonder why God allows evil into the world. This kinda goes back to what I was saying in the beginning of my essay. The excuse not to believe in God just because there’s evil in the world is wrong. Who makes the world evil? We make the world evil, not God. He allows it because we use the freedom that He gives us in the wrong way. You can’t blame your actions on God. You should be asking yourself why am I allowing evil, because you lie, and do things that aren’t right? Making the world less evil starts with us and being a good influence on the people around us.
Lastly, the number one reason people reject God is because of unanswered prayers. It’s crazy how many non-Christians pray when they say they don’t believe in God. Why would you talk to God if you don’t think He exists? In the Bible, John 9:31, it says that God doesn’t hear sinners’ prayers. Although we all sin, even Christians, God doesn’t put us in the category of sinners, so if you read anything in the Bible about what will happen to sinners, He isn’t talking about the true Christians. God doesn’t even hear non-Christians so just like every other reason that people have not to believe in God, this one is because of them. The reason people blame God is because they don’t want to blame themselves. They don’t want to be the reason for the bad things that happen in their lives. The only reason you’re living is because of God. The reason your breathing is because of God. Why you have freedom is because of God. Why God gave us the choice to go to heaven is because of Him. And still, people blame Him for all the bad. He has a reason for every decision. Maybe not everything goes your way, but you have to be knocked down to get back up. Things have to get bad before they’re good. Maybe God made something bad happen in your life so that you can focus on something more important. Sometimes people lose the job they love because God has a better one for them in the future. You just never know. So, the reason I choose to do my essay on the top three reasons why people reject God is, because I think it’s very important for people not to blame God for the bad when all He has done for us is good. And we can learn from Adam and Eve, because we don’t want to make the same mistakes they did, and we don’t want to let God down. Thanks for taking the time to read my essay, I hope you enjoyed it and maybe learned something!
